Shakhtar player Prosper Obah spoke with participants in the Shakhtar Social foundation project
On March 28, Shakhtar midfielder Prosper Obah held an online meeting with children taking part in the United Together project implemented by the Shakhtar Social charitable foundation in partnership with The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation. The aim of the social programme, which has been running since 2024 in Zaporizhzhia, Lozova (Kharkiv Oblast) and Shakhtarske (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast), is to support children in regions close to the war zone through sport, regular football training and psychological care. In total, 200 boys and girls aged 7 to 12 are involved in the project.
During the session, Prosper answered the children’s questions, with the girls in particular being very active in asking them, many of whom play football within the United Together project. The young athletes were interested in the Nigerian winger’s skills, his adaptation at the club and his impressions of Ukraine. They also asked how to become a professional footballer and what dreams he wants to fulfil at Shakhtar.

I appreciate the presence of all the children and sincerely want to wish them success in life and for them to stay motivated. I believe each of them wants to become a footballer in the future, so I wish them career success and happiness in life
Prosper Obah, midfielder:
– An incredible meeting! I appreciate the presence of all the children and sincerely want to wish them success in life and for them to stay motivated. I believe each of them wants to become a footballer in the future, so I wish them career success and happiness in life. I am convinced that one of them may even be my teammate one day. It was a truly pleasant meeting, I really enjoyed the questions. It means a lot to me that the children found time to speak with me during such a difficult period for the country. I want to support them in any way I can. Thank you very much.
– What is it like to play for the best club in Ukraine? (Ira)
– It is an incredible feeling, without a doubt. I am sure that it is the biggest dream for every footballer in Ukraine. Having the chance to fulfil it makes me very happy.
– What motivates you to go out on the pitch and train every day? (Bohdan)
– My family. That is the main motivation of my whole life.
– What is the craziest thing you would be ready to do if Shakhtar won the Champions League trophy? (Arina)
– I would rush home first and celebrate with my family. Especially as it would be my first trophy at that moment. Not something too crazy, but that is what I would do first.
It is worth noting that all children who took part in the meeting will receive signed cards from Prosper Obah, while the three best questions will also be rewarded with special gifts.
