Children from Bilohorodka and Irpin visited a training session of Shakhtar’s first team in Sviatoshyn
On Tuesday, March 3, participants of the Come On, Let’s Play! project, implemented by Shakhtar Social in partnership with DTEK, visited a training session of Shakhtar’s first team in Sviatoshyn.
Guests of the Orange-and-Blacks were children from Bilohorodka, who won the tournament marking DTEK’s 20th anniversary in the summer of 2025. They were joined by children from Irpin, where a new football pitch as part of the project is set to open soon.
During the event, the young athletes had the opportunity to observe the Miners’ training process. At the invitation of head coach Arda Turan, the children joined the warm-up and completed several exercises with the team directly on the pitch. At the end of the session, they spoke with the players, received autographs and took photos.
Oleksandr, 11, Bilohorodka:
– I’m very happy to visit Shakhtar’s training session and see my favourite players. At first, I was a little nervous, but that feeling soon went away. It was fascinating to watch the team at work. I even managed to take photos with the players and get autographs. This day will stay in my memory for a long time.
Rostyslav Bahlai, Shakhtar goalkeeper:
– The impressions from such meetings are only positive. It’s a real pleasure to see the children’s smiles, their genuine emotions and interest. These events are always energising, and it’s great that the club initiates such projects. I want to wish the children never to stop and to keep striving for their goals.
Currently, Come On, Let’s Play! operates in 26 localities across Ukraine, with 26 functioning pitches. More than 1,300 boys and girls from 7 to 12 years old participate in the project.
