Shakhtar U19 forward Oleksandr Lomaha shared his impressions of the victory over Oleksandriia U19
– The game went very well: the team carried out everything the coaching staff asked for and achieved a successful result, not giving the opponents any chance of taking points. Both in attack and in defence, the players did their best.
– You needed just a few minutes after coming on to score. Tell us about that moment and how important the goal is for you?
– When you come off the bench, you always want to help the team. For my goal, we orchestrated a quick attack down the left flank, the ball was crossed and I was in the right place at the right time. For me it is very important – it adds confidence, and most significantly, you always want to help the team win.
– During the winter break you were in Shchaslyve. How did your preparation for the second part of the championship go?
– During the winter break I worked with Shakhtar U17. I had a proper training process and took part in the Makarov Memorial Tournament, which the team went through very well, playing against senior and experienced opponents. I approached the second half of the league in excellent form.
– Shakhtar U19 are the sole leaders of the U19 National League. Do you feel pressure or does it add motivation?
– Of course, when we are in first spot it adds responsibility, but I would not say that the team feel any pressure. On the contrary, it only motivates us. We always understand that everyone wants to beat us, so we go into every match fully focused.
– What goals do you set for yourself for the final stage of the season and what do you aim to achieve with the team?
– The goals are only high, both personal and team ones. I set myself the task of helping the team win every match, and the main objective is to become champions.
