Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov congratulated the fans on winning the league title
Dear fans! Dear friends!
Congratulations to all of us on winning the title! We are used to the golden colour of medals. I have said many times that this colour suits us very well. So congratulations to all of us!
Every new title is special to me because there is enormous work, character, belief and daily effort behind it. And when this title is won in conditions of war and incredible challenges, its value becomes even greater. Today I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this victory possible.
But first of all, I want to express my deep gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine, the soldiers of the Armed Forces, military medics, volunteers – everyone who defends our country, our freedom and our future every day. Thanks to you, Ukraine lives and continues to fight. My deepest respect to you.
I thank our team. It is not easy for our footballers: they live on the road, travel thousands of kilometres for matches and do not see their families for months. Lads, I know how hard it is for you. But you find the strength within yourselves, go onto the pitch and overcome these challenges with dignity. And these gold medals are a reward for your work, professionalism, skill, character, dedication to football and dedication to Shakhtar. Thank you!
I want to express my sincere gratitude to our head coach Arda Turan and the entire coaching staff. A year ago, you made a brave decision – to come to a country at war, take charge of the team and accept great responsibility. That deserves enormous respect. You have led this season with great dignity. Together with you, we have won the league title and reached the semi-finals of the Conference League. This is excellent work that we can all be proud of.
I would like to thank everyone who is always with the team: the medical staff, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists and the administrative staff. In such extremely difficult conditions, your work is especially important. Thank you!
I would like to thank the management and all the personnel at our club. You are building not only the present but also the future of Shakhtar. We have many talented young players, a strong coaching staff, the right energy and great ambition. We have enormous potential and I believe that great victories lie ahead for Shakhtar.
And of course, the warmest words of gratitude go to our fans. Wherever you are, we always feel your support. Your belief in the team and your love for the club are a great strength for Shakhtar. You inspire the team and help it keep moving forward. All of Shakhtar’s victories and trophies are for you and thanks to you.
And I would like to emphasise that this is a special title for Shakhtar. This year our club celebrates its 90th anniversary. It is a great history, great traditions, legendary names, unforgettable matches and millions of hearts beating in orange and black. I’m happy that we are marking the anniversary properly – with gold medals and the league title!
But our main victory is still ahead: Ukraine’s victory. We all believe in it and continue doing everything possible to bring it closer.
