Shakhtar Stalevi head coach Bohdan Bilko summarised the team’s performance in the second round of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship
– Shakhtar Stalevi have completed the second round of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship, facing the Super League leaders. What are the main takeaways from this round?
– First of all, I want to note the high level of organisation of the championship – it is very strong. Overall, the second round can be assessed positively. The team showed progress both in collective play and in individual actions. We demonstrated a good playing structure and also gained valuable experience in matches against opponents who represent Ukraine in EAFF European competitions. This is the level we must strive for because matches against strong opponents toughen the team and allow us to develop.
– This season of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship is taking place in a new format, with an increased number of participants. How do you assess the competitiveness?
– Regarding competitiveness in the championship: it is clear that all teams are capable of taking points. Regardless of position in the table, all teams are progressing and developing, which overall has a positive effect both on the level of the championship and on the development of players and amputee football in Ukraine. In the long term, this will allow the Ukraine national team to receive quality reinforcements and clubs to represent the country with dignity in European competitions.
– What are your nearest plans and preparations for the next round of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship?
– At the moment, the team will have a short rest, as it is necessary to recover both physically and mentally. Afterwards, we will begin preparing for the next round of the competition. We will also analyse our mistakes and continue working on improving our play.
