Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk commented on the second leg against Crystal Palace and summed up the team’s UEFA Conference League campaign
– Dmytro, Shakhtar’s European journey has come to an end. How would you assess this season?
– Yes, the team’s European season is over. It’s a pity, but there is no shame in it – we had a good season and gained enormous European experience, which is important for our future plans.
– How does it feel that the team stopped just one step away from the final?
– Of course, we wanted to play in the final. Going such a long way and stopping just one step away from it is worth a lot. We gave everything, everyone wanted to reach the final. But this is football – we will move forward and become stronger.
– What would you highlight as the main achievements of this European campaign?
– Reaching the semi-finals. For us, it is very valuable experience for the future.
– Can you say this European experience has been the most memorable in your career so far?
– Yes! I’ve never been at this stage in my life before, in the semi-finals. I hope it won’t be the last time. We will work to go further and win in the future.
– What did Arda Turan say in the dressing room after the match?
– He thanked us for our effort. Everyone understands that this season was not easy and he went through it with us as well, so he said thank you and that he is proud of us.
– Throughout this European campaign, Shakhtar have been supported by fans all over the world, who found the time and opportunity to follow the team. What would you like to say to them?
