The team are building up fitness ahead of their first home match of the European season
Shakhtar continue to prepare for their UEFA Champions League league phase match against Greek side AEK, which takes place in London in two days’ time. The Orange-and-Blacks arrived in the British capital ahead of time, on Saturday, to acclimatise as well as possible.
Today, October 12, the team coached by Arda Turan held a training session at Chelsea’s Cobham training centre in London. The session lasted an hour and a half and consisted of the usual elements: a warm-up, rondos, passing and shooting drills, game-based and combination exercises, and tactical work.
Tomorrow, the Miners have a media day scheduled, featuring a pre-match press conference with the head coach and a player followed by an open training session.
The MD2 league phase fixture of the UEFA Champions League Shakhtar vs AEK will take place on Wednesday, October 14, at Stamford Bridge in London. The game kicks off at 20:00 local time (22:00 Kyiv time). Tickets for this clash and Champions League packages for all the Orange-and-Blacks’ home fixtures are on sale.
