Serhii Palkin and Darijo Srna met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada

FC Shakhtar CEO Serhii Palkin and the club’s sporting director Darijo Srna met with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk. The sides discussed Ukrainian football, its current issues and Shakhtar’s journey in the Champions League.

The meeting was also attended by Ukrainian diplomat and director of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament in Ukraine Markiian Lubkivskyi.

– This was an important meeting for us. It is always a pleasure to speak with people who love football and genuinely care about supporting our sport. Together, we recalled Shakhtar’s and Ukrainian football’s past achievements, discussed the current challenges, and talked about the potential and prospects for the development of football in our country in the future.

A team that, despite all the challenges of the war, continue to represent Ukraine with dignity on the international stage. We all strive for one thing – a just peace and a return home. I believe the day will come when Shakhtar will once again play at their own stadium – in Ukrainian Donetsk.
