– You returned to the pitch after recovering from injury, made an immediate impact and scored straight away. How important is this for you and what are your emotions right now?
– I’m extremely happy to be back on the football pitch. The match was certainly not easy, but it’s always great to win – three points always put you in a positive mood. The first goal was very important as it helped us open up the game and gave us more opportunities to control it. It’s not just a win for us, but also a very interesting game, although perhaps a little nerve-racking for our fans. I think today’s clash was certainly an exciting one and left no one indifferent.
– Let’s go back to the moment of your goal. How exactly did it happen? Traore doesn’t always start matches either, especially at the beginning of the season, but he played an important role in this move.
– As Mister has said on numerous occasions in interviews and in personal conversations with us, all the players are important to him. Some may play less often, perhaps for various reasons, but Lassina Traore is certainly a very important player for our team, and his strengths helped us a lot today. In particular, with the first goal – the way he held the ball up and played it to me. As I said, this goal helped us open up the game and feel even more confident.
– When you came on as a substitute, did you feel that you would be the joker who would help the team win?
– I always believe in my attacking potential and my ability to score, whether I start or come on as a substitute. But I also believe that all achievements are the result of teamwork. It’s all about my teammates, who were waiting for me and applauding me when I was warming up by the bench and getting ready to come on. That’s why I always say that a victory is a team effort. Yes, I managed to score, but without Traore’s pass and the help of my other teammates, this goal simply wouldn’t have happened, nor would our overall victory.
