Comment from Shakhtar women’s team head coach Roman Zaiev after the defeat to Ladomyr (1-2)
– We prepared well, and the team understood what result we needed to achieve. We started the game well. We knew that Ladomyr had fairly limited resources, so we tried to maintain the tempo. The air raid alerts every 20 minutes gave the opposition a chance to recover, which, on the one hand, worked in their favour. On the other hand, the mistakes we make are fatal and undoubtedly affect the outcome of the match.
– Shakhtar women’s team will face Seasters in the Ukrainian Cup Round of 16. How do you assess the draw and what do you expect from the upcoming tie?
– We prepare for all opponents, regardless of the competition we are taking part in. In any case, the team have their own style of play and desire. At the moment, we have to gain valuable experience by making a certain number of mistakes, but there will be no mental growth without this. We will do everything possible to go as far as we can.
