The Miners are preparing for the start of Europe’s main club competition
On September 7, Shakhtar set off for their first match of the UEFA Champions League league phase. In the morning, the team travelled by bus from Lviv, crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border en route to Rzeszów, from where they took a charter flight to Maastricht Airport in the Netherlands and arrived at their destination at 17:00 local time.
Tomorrow, Arda Turan’s side will train on the pitch in Maastricht, while Wednesday will be dedicated to the traditional media activities – an open training session and the pre-match press conference with the head coach and a player.
As a reminder, the UEFA Champions League league phase MD1 fixture between PSV and Shakhtar will take place at the PSV Stadion in Eindhoven on Thursday, September 10. Kickoff is at 19:45 Kyiv time.
