Shakhtar begin their Ukrainian Cup campaign as the current holders and the most decorated club in the history of the competition, having lifted the trophy 15 times. The Orange-and-Blacks have also won in the last two seasons and extended their unbeaten Cup run to 8 matches. On Wednesday, Arda Turan’s side will enter their third competition of the season, after playing a series of European qualifying matches in the summer and reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League league phase, which kicks off in two weeks, as well as having played 5 UPL fixtures.

Polissia Stavky are an amateur football club from Stavky, competing in the Kyiv Oblast Championship. The team were finalists of the regional cup competition in the 2024/25 season, and began their current Ukrainian Cup journey from the Round of 128, defeating Lehiia Kyiv (4-0). In the Round of 64, Yaroslav Klymchuk’s men also confidently overcame Second League side Rebel Kyiv (3-0). Polissia’s most prolific players in these matches were Yurii Maliei and Serhii Maksymets (2 goals each).
