In four UEFA Youth League games, the Miners have scored only one point, still retaining the mathematical chances of getting to the knockout phase. To do so, Serhii Shyschenko’s lads must win the remaining two matches and count on the problems of competitors.
 
Shakhtar were close to the first success in the tournament three weeks earlier, when they received Feyenoord. The Donetsk team controlled the game and on 65 minutes they opened the scoring: Vladyslav Kuzmenko got on the end of Topalov's cross. However, they failed to keep the advantage – in the 90th minute the opponents equalized. Currently, Man City are topping the group (12 points), with Feyenoord being second (5), and Napoli going third (4).

Napoli U19 successfully started their UYL campaign in Ukraine, later losing the two-goal lead in the home match vs Feyenoord (2-2) and two defeats at Manchester City (1-3 away, 3-5 at home). Interestingly, in the last match against the English side Napoli were losing 0-5 before the break, but managed to pull three goals back in the second half. We want to note that three of the eight goals were scored by defenders; with the 17-year-old Gianluca Gaetano being the Azzurri’s scoring leader after netting two goals in the UEFA Youth League and four goals in the U19 League in Italy.

The teams met in the first round of the group stage in Vysoke. Before the break and enjoying full advantage, Shakhtar conceded an illogical goal in the last but one minute – Gaetano scored a long-ranger, with the Donetsk team equalising (Kulakov) in the second half, but immediately conceding a set-play goal (Dzerbin). The outcome is 2-1 win for Napoli U19.
