On May 20, a gala evening for Shakhtar U17 players took place in Kyiv
This season, the guys complete their Academy activities and move to a professional level. The FC Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin and the Shakhtar Academy Director Jorge Raffo congratulated the graduates on this important event.
I would like to thank the entire coaching staff, the educators, the guys and, most importantly, the Academy Director Jorge Raffo, who make every effort for us to have the best football school in the country and to remain at the top level

- Dear friends, this is a landmark year for our club, because exactly 20 years ago the Shakhtar Academy was established in the form in which it exists today. I would like to thank the entire coaching staff, the educators, the guys and, most importantly, the Academy Director Jorge Raffo, who make every effort for us to have the best football school in the country and to remain at the top level. Also, 10 years ago, we won the UEFA Cup. And I want to wish the young footballers to hold a major European trophy in their hands in a few years’ time. Our main goal is to see you in the first team. That’s not easy, because the club has very high competition, but on our part, you will be given full support. Good luck and victories only!

- It's an exciting moment now because we saw how these young guys started and how they grew day by day. Over two years, we have developed excellent relations, and I want to wish them all to fulfil their dream and to play at Shakhtar. The Academy’s objective is to educate great footballers, and most importantly, great people. For the coaches and for me, the most important thing is to educate you as true professionals, and this requires diligence, respect, teamwork - all the things that the great coaches of our Academy taught us. The club has high hopes for each of you, and you will have a chance to play for the first team. You should try very hard to show the quality of the Academy’s work, and I’m sure we will all be proud of you!
The current graduates began their journey at the Shakhtar Academy under the guidance of Ihor Leonov and Andriy Zabolotnyi, becoming the U14 Champions of Ukraine (2016) the very first season. The recent two football years, they have been coached by Oleksandr Sytnyk, who was assisted by Oleksandr Maksymov.
