Shakhtar newcomer Vitao spoke about his first training session, adaptation, and competition
- I'm very happy! Here, we have a wonderful team who received me in the best way. The club, structure, and organization - everything is top-level. To play in Europe is the dream of any football player, and it has come true in my case. I am grateful to Shakhtar for this opportunity.
- What did you know about the club before the move? What Brazilians do you know?
- I followed Shakhtar and wanted to play for the club. I knew Tete, Fernando, Marcos, Cipriano - we had been together in the U20 team. Everything’s just as I expected. They received me very well.
- Did you talk to Dentinho ... Does he help you adapt?
- Yes. But I spoke not only with him but with all Brazilians. The Ukrainians also received me very well. I hope to help Shakhtar achieve success.
- Some experienced players of Ukraine and Georgia operate at centre-back. Don’t you fear competition?
- No, I don’t. That’s absolutely normal. I will work hard and fight for a place in the line-up. It’s great that there are experienced central defenders because I can learn a lot from them.
