Borussia Monchengladbach captain Lars Stindl took part in a regular press conference before the Champions League match vs Shakhtar

- Exactly five years ago, on 25 November 2015, Borussia claimed their first Champions League victory here. Does this mean that tomorrow you will repeat this success?

- Yes, we’ve been showing what we are capable of. Obviously, we are seeking our next home victory in the Champions League and looking forward to it. We played a very good match three weeks ago in Ukraine, and even if tomorrow we see a completely different football game, we still want to win and claim three points.

- The team have players like Thuram, Plea, Zakaria, but you are the top scorer ...

- I try to display efficiency on the pitch as an attacking footballer: I score and orchestrate some goalscoring attacks. We have a large selection of attacking players, we don’t depend on one particular person, and this benefits the whole team.

- Can the home and away games against Shakhtar allow you to claim at least the second spot?

- We know how things are, and we don’t need any additional motivational speeches. The focus is now on the upcoming fight. Nevertheless, within the team there is a feeling that we can deliver something special through such games. I am convinced that we can add more points in all of the return matches.

- Recently Hummels publicly complimented you - how did you react to it?

- I wrote to him and thanked him for advertising in the media. I always try to create a lot of chances on the pitch and help my teammates.

- Gladbach are not doing well in the Bundesliga right now. What competition do you focus on?

- Weve analyzed the situation and are looking into the future. This information is not deep-rooted in our heads: we want to perform well tomorrow - this is the main goal.

- What can you say about the quality of the field?

- The pitch is always perfect and we can display some great football.
