The Miners’ first opponents will be the Polish Lech. The club from the city of Poznan was founded almost 100 years ago - on 19 March 1922. The Railwaymen are 7-time domestic champions, 5-time national Cup winners and 6-time Super Cup winners.

In the quartet with Rangers, Benfica and Standard, the Poznan side finished bottom of the group and dropped out of the tournament.
In the current Polish league campaign, Lech played 14 matches, claimed four wins, drew five times and lost on five occasions (goal difference is 23-22). With 17 points, the team are sitting in the 9th spot.
Ukrainian trace
The Ukrainian defender Vasyl Kravets whose contract belongs to the Spanish Leganes, is on loan at Lech Poznan. Bohdan Butko played for the White-Blues until December 2020. Also, defender Volodymyr Kostevych and forward Oleksii Khoblenko left there mark at the club before returning to the UPL.
The colours of Lech are defended by the players of the national teams – a Georgia striker Nika Kacharava and a Slovakia defender Lubomir Satka. Several performers play for Poland U21 and Poland U19. The major star is winger Jakub Kaminski: the 18-year-old talent made 21 appearances for the first team, scored three goals and provided the same number of assists. The team are coached by the 46-year-old specialist Dariusz Zuraw who has held this post since the 1st of April 2019. The preferred formation is 1-4-2-3-1.
