In an interview with Shakhtar News, the midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk spoke about preparation for the season in Austria, the trust of the coaching staff and the desire to benefit the team
- The training camp went well! We learned many things. The coach gave us many different ideas - we can’t learn them completely in three weeks, but we do learn them. And we've already done a good job.
- What new things have the coaching staff introduced?
- Organisation of play, moving on the pitch. A lot of new things.
- You failed to win the recent friendly against Schalke 04. How important was it?
- Above all, it’s our play that’s important, the foundation that was laid so that we would develop it and continue following the coach’s instructions. Of course, we wanted to win. A draw for Shakhtar, I suppose, is not a positive result, but we will gain momentum daily and weekly.
- Roberto De Zerbi said more than once in his interviews that he really counts on you, that he likes you as a footballer and that you have great potential. Do you feel the trust of the coaching staff?
- Yes, I do. And I think that trust needs to be justified every day, at every training session. I’ve got a great desire to work with this coaching staff. I want to bring as much benefit to the team as possible.
- In 18 days you had only one day off, and you trained twice a day nearly every day. What is your current fitness? Do you feel tired?
- I do feel some fatigue. Everyone should understand that this is training camp - it should be hard there. The training camp’s being easy would’ve meant that we were doing something in a wrong way. All that is normal. Everyone feels that fatigue, but that’s the way it should be for us to prepare for the season well.
