I’m proud of my team!

- Vitalii, congratulations on winning the title! What emotions are you experiencing?

- Many thanks! Emotions are the most positive, the mood is great. We were moving towards this championship all year long. I believe we’ve become the top side deservedly - both in terms of our play and the result, and not only in the final part, but throughout the entire season. Many coaches of other teams mentioned us in a good sense in this regard. The guys did really well, they fulfilled nearly everything we had demanded of them. I’m proud of my team! I would also like to thank the organizers of the tournament.

- This season was your debut one at the helm of the U14 team. Did you believe before its start that you’d be able to lead the players to the league title?

- The guys and I agreed that we ought to become the best in our category across all components: in terms of our play, goals and other factors. The guys did well - they were true to the pledge they made early this league season.

- Did you have any fears before the final in terms of the guys’ premature complacency because the team already met with these opponents during this league campaign and beat them? How did you manage to psych your lads up?

- To be honest, I experienced some excitement. But we told the guys that a regular season game is different from the final. Moreover, UFK-Karpaty made it past Dynamo in the semi-finals and approached the match with good vibes. However, there was no need to tune the players to the final match. As one coach put it, "Finals are not played, finals are won." And so we did it.

- Martyuk, Leuta and Stepanov received personal awards in various categories based on the season results. How pleasant is that for you as a coach and how important is recognition for the guys themselves?
