In an interview with Shakhtar TV, the goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin spoke about the first training sessions this new year, training camp features and the newcomers' adaptation
- Please tell us about the course of the training camp? How do you feel in the first days?
- Just super! Finally, the whole team has gathered together, we start preparing for the league campaign. The first days were introductory and passed smoothly, and now the most fun is coming – two training sessions a day.
- Do you feel loaded and tired?
- Not yet. The only thing I felt is that it was hard to get up in the morning after two sessions, but when you come to your senses and wake up, everything falls into place and gets normal. We haven’t felt the full load yet, it's still ahead.
- What’s the atmosphere in the team, the mood?
- I didn’t see many of the guys for about a month, but I met with some during the holidays. The atmosphere is great! Before the start of the camp, I even felt a pleasant excitement, a kind of butterflies in my stomach, because I wanted to start exercising asap. Now we all talk to one another and laugh as if this vacation never happened.
- This year, Shakhtar will have an unusually long training camp that includes two away stages lasting more than two weeks each...
- Everyone in the team understands that if we want to do well in the domestic league, win cups, and be successful next season on the European stage, then we must work well. Without long training camps and hard work, this cannot be achieved. I’m even happy that we’ve got such a long and intense training ahead of us as we’ve got the opportunity to work out each component well, make it automatic and get stronger.
- What can you say about the newcomers Tobias and Neres? What’s your impression of the guys, how is their adaption going?
- It’s hard to say something definite yet because we didn’t have any game exercises. But if our club got interested in them, then they are able to strengthen the team, the competition within the team, and deliver some excellent football. There should be no adaptation issues because there are many Brazilians playing at Shakhtar, with whom they could have crossed paths before. So everything will be great.
